I was shocked that this prevailed to get nominated in 4 of the 5 most prestigious awards guilds this year. It's definitely a good and fun movie for the year, but I didn't see anything too "award worthy" about it on that level that it has a legitimate shot at Best Picture at the Oscars.
Can see DiCaprio getting a nom, and Tarantino maybe just barely making a nom, but it must be weak competition for this to outdo some other films this year. This is certainly not as award-worthy as Eastwood's Richard Jewell, which is getting snubbed in favor of such an underachieving movie like this one, albeit an underachieving movie I still enjoyed.
